Oftentimes a pure fantasy game provides you with more lighthearted tones and narrative beats with characters that might focus on a singular goal of saving the realm. Often dark fantasy games take a more gothic, spooky, or impending doom feel to the story or world-building.
Dark fantasy games can cover a multitude of experiences from more horror-tinged games to more traditional high fantasy games. In fact, when asked if the game could come to other platforms like the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or Nintendo Switch, developers Ironmace Games stated that bringing Dark and Darker to consoles is "one of our goals.One of the most unique and creative sub-genres of games is dark fantasy. Dark and Darker will release as a PC-only game however, that doesn't mean developers aren't open to branching out to consoles. While Dark and Darker is currently only available on PC and will only be available on PC immediately after release, many fans wonder if the game will come to consoles a while after its release. The game is not available on mobile, Nintendo Switch, or other platforms. The game is set to release on PC only on its release date.
